Child Support Guidelines

The Indiana Supreme Court on September 15, 2009, adopted newly revised child support guidelines. Many areas were changed substantially and you should consult your attorney whether you pay or receive support. The changes were effective January 1, 2010. The most significant changes were in the areas where at least one of the parties is low income earners or very high income earners. In the case of high income earners who are paying support, the support may increase thousands of dollars a year. These Guidelines are now under review again and will be changed in many substantial ways. Mr. Mann was a party of a Bar Association Committee that addressed newly proposed changes to the 2010 support guidelines. We expect these new changes will be effective not later than January 1, 2016. Many of the changes revolve around the health insurance changes mandated by the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). You should check back to this page or our blog regularly for an update on the status. You can also check our blog for regular updates on the ever changing law in Indiana which are important to Hoosiers in their daily lives.
